Set in the heart of the Perigord Noir, Ste Alvčre is a thriving village with good amenities: 2 bakers, a butcher, a bar-tabac, a restaurant, a post office, a bank, a small supermarket, a pharmacy and a medical centre. There is a market every Monday morning and from November to January a truffle market also. There is a water park, lake and small animal park and children’s fair nearby. In the summer there is a range of lively night time activities such as night markets, fairs, concerts and village entertainments.Golf, fishing, canoeing, cycling, tennis and horse riding are all available locally. |

You can enjoy a delicious meal in one of the many excellent local restaurants or fermes auberges. The local specialities are duck and goose dishes, including foie gras, and also truffles, cępes, walnuts, strawberries and cheeses, to name but a few, plus the lovely wines of Bergerac, Monbazillac and Pecharmant.
